Investment Incentives Platform


The Western Balkans Six Investment Incentive Platform is the first of its kind in the region, providing detailed information on available incentives in each of the WB6. It is one of the key measures under the Regional Investment Area, which is part of the Common Regional Market Action Plan 2021-2024.

Developed with input from Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) across the region, the platform includes both financial and non-financial incentives, categorized by type, sector, and target audience.

It provides comprehensive information for investors looking to invest in the WB6. As an evolving resource, the platform will be updated every six months to ensure it remains current and relevant.

Article 3 and 4 Article 3: Fund Activities
The Fund's activities involve the collection and distribution of financial resources for environmental protection within the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (hereinafter: Federation of BiH). These resources will be used particularly for the following purposes:

Supporting the fulfillment of tasks arising from obligations and responsibilities towards the international community in the field of environmental protection.
Mitigating environmental damage in cases where the principle of liability for damage (polluter pays) cannot be applied to a specific person.
Covering the costs of preventing or remedying environmental damage that requires immediate intervention.
Supporting measures aimed at environmental protection, particularly in the areas of developing and financing information systems, education, and dissemination of information.
Promoting the development of an environmentally friendly economic structure.
Preserving protected natural areas.
Enhancing public environmental awareness and conducting environmental research.
Preserving, sustainably using, protecting, and improving environmental conditions.
Financing the preparation, implementation, and development of program documents and similar activities in the areas of environmental conservation, sustainable use, protection, and improvement, as well as the use of renewable energy sources.
Article 4: Scope of Fund Activities
The Fund's activities include tasks related to acquiring funds, encouraging, and financing the preparation, implementation, and development of programs, projects, and similar activities in the area of environmental conservation, sustainable use, protection, and improvement, and the use of renewable energy sources (hereinafter: environmental protection financing), particularly:

Professional and other tasks related to acquiring, managing, and using the Fund's resources.
Mediating in the financing of environmental protection from foreign countries, international financial institutions and bodies, and domestic and foreign legal and natural persons.
Providing professional services related to financing environmental protection.
Maintaining a database of programs, projects, and similar activities in the field of environmental protection, as well as the necessary and available financial resources for their realization.
Encouraging, establishing, and achieving cooperation with international and domestic financial institutions and other legal and natural persons for financing environmental protection in accordance with the Federal Environmental Protection Strategy, environmental protection plans adopted based on the Strategy, international agreements to which Bosnia and Herzegovina is a party, and other programs and documents in the field of environmental protection.
Performing other tasks related to encouraging and financing environmental protection as defined by the Fund's Statute.
The Fund may also perform other activities specified by the Statute that serve the activities mentioned in paragraph 1 of this article.

In performing its activities as a public institution, the Fund has public authority prescribed by this law, including issuing administrative and other acts, and making decisions on matters significant for managing the Fund's resources.

In its operations, the Fund adheres to principles of transparency, public accountability, objectivity, and responsibility in decision-making and applies internationally recognized standards of good practice.

Eligibility criteria

Eligible Applicants: Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) registered in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Eligible Projects: Projects aimed at implementing energy efficiency measures in MSMEs, including investments in energy-efficient equipment, technologies, and systems.

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must meet specific technical and financial criteria, including demonstrating the potential for energy savings and providing a detailed project proposal.

Priority Sectors: Priority will be given to projects in sectors such as manufacturing, services, and agriculture, where significant energy savings can be achieved.

Funding Allocation: The total budget available for funding projects is specified, and applicants must indicate the requested funding amount in their proposals.
